Farm Focus: Camping Out with Stroller Hikes

It was a beautiful day in Santa Cruz county last week when we headed to the Bravo Ranch to join the folks from Stroller Hikes for a day of camping. For those of you not familiar with this awesome organization, Stroller Hikes is a 501-c-3 nonprofit educational organization created to offer public, baby-friendly outdoor fitness and education opportunities to Bay Area families.

We had the privilege of joining Stroller Hikes for their annual camping trip. 26 families got together for a weekend of camping, hiking and enjoying one another’s company.  We came out for the day to connect with folks, let them know about our CSA program and of course share some delicious fruit and  goodies from our kitchen. It was a smash hit. Molly, our  outreach coordinator, couldn’t cut the fruit and get in on the plate  fast enough.

If you’re interested in learning more about Stroller Hikes and how you can get outside with the kids and other local families, check out strollerhikes.com. And if you are interested in having us come out to your community for a tasting event like this please send Molly an email at molly@happychildcsa.com. We’d love to join your community event, come and chat with any local organizations you are a part of or even join you for a more intimate tasting event  in your home.
