Farm Focus: Calling all members with fruit trees!

unnamed

We will be holding a hands-on pruning workshop out at the farm on Sunday, February 8th from 11 am – 1 pm. For those who have fruit trees, this is a great opportunity to learn how to keep your trees healthy and productive.

There are many reasons why Frog Hollow fruit tastes so good. Pruning is one of them. By allowing maximum light and air to reach leading branches, and by selectively pruning (or thinning) out small ones, we are able to ensure our fruit is sweet and that our branches are laden with fruit.

Farmer Al and Kristin will be leading the workshop to explain the basic principles of pruning, go over the pruning techniques we use at Frog Hollow, and demonstrate specific cuts. Participants will then break out into groups and work on making cuts of their own under guidance.

It should prove to be a fun and educational day. Fruit and hot tea are provided. We hope you can make it!
