Seasonal Supper - POSTER1 (1)

Seasonal Supper - POSTER1 (1)

Have you ever wondered who organizes your local farmer’s market? It’s more than likely that it’s the hard working folks at the Pacific Coast Farmer’s Market Association (PCFMA). They organize 60 markets throughout the broader bay area. Since 1988, the PCFMA have served the greater bay area by establishing and operating certified farmer’s markets. Their mission is to provide viable economic opportunities for California farmers and food producers, local access to farm fresh products, and education on food, nutrition and the sustainability of California agriculture. We are so impressed and appreciative of the work do to ensure that bay area eaters have access to local, organic and safe food and small farmers have a place to sell their products. Farmer Al has been a long time supporter of their work and has been a member of their board for a number of years. In 2008, the PCFMA founded Fresh Approach to address obesity and nutrition in low income communities. Now a PCFMA sister organization, they connect low-in- come individuals and families with California-grown food and give them the knowl- edge they need to make smart diet choices. As a fundraiser for this important work, they are hosting a Field to Fork dinner with our very own Farmer Al on Sept 20th. The Seasonal Supper will be an intimate evening with eight local farmers. The dinner will include multiple courses, delicately crafted by Chef Mario Hernandez, highlight- ing the food each farmer grows. In addition to delicious food, the event will offer live music, wine tasting with local Glennhawk Vineyards, a raffle & talks from the farmers. The event will be in Danville at the lovely Hap Magee Ranch. If you are looking for a delicious dish, an evening of fun and to support nutritional education programs for low-income families of the Bay Area, then we’d love to see you at Seasonal Supper.
