{"id":1677,"date":"2012-08-14T20:02:18","date_gmt":"2012-08-14T20:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/happychildcsa.com\/?p=1677"},"modified":"2012-08-14T20:02:18","modified_gmt":"2012-08-14T20:02:18","slug":"farm-focus-battle-of-the-peaches-ripe-the-cookbook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/happychildcsa.com\/froghollowCSA\/farm-focus-battle-of-the-peaches-ripe-the-cookbook\/","title":{"rendered":"Farm Focus: Battle of the Peaches &#038; Ripe the cookbook"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/happychildcsa.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Ripe-Coverweb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1694\" title=\"Ripe Cookbook Cover\" src=\"http:\/\/happychildcsa.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Ripe-Coverweb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>\nA few months back Farmer Al joined cookbook author and blogger Chery Sternman Rule at Omnivore Books in San Francisco for a book reading and signing of her recently released cookbook <em>Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables<\/em>.\u00a0 Frog Hollow Farm was pleased to be in such good company and to provide samples of fruit to guests at the event.\n\n<em>Ripe<\/em> is a collaborative effort between Cheryl, who created the recipes featured in the book, and Paulette Phlipot, whose beautiful photography captures each recipe.\u00a0 <em>Ripe<\/em> takes a fresh approach to cooking with produce and is arranged by color.\u00a0 The jewel colored pages offer accessible and delicious preparations featuring a wide range of fruits and vegetables.\u00a0 Cheryl\u2019s fun and open narrative style adds to the book\u2019s appeal.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great book for kids because of it\u2019s colorful appeal, beautiful images, and smaller format.\u00a0 Millie and Maddie, Farmer Al and Becky\u2019s kids, love flipping through it and pointing out recipes that includes fruit grown in their backyard - the orchard!\u00a0 This week\u2019s recipe and accompanying photo were provided compliments of Cheryl and Paulette.\u00a0 Thanks to them both for creating such a beautiful and delicious book.\n\n<strong>Annual Battle of the Peaches<\/strong>\n\nEach year Frog Hollow Farm hosts a Battle of the Peaches.\u00a0 The contenders are two of our most coveted peach varieities -
