Make sure the pears are thoroughly dried, then place a popsicle stick in the top of each pear.\n\nPlace the carmels and water into large mixing bowl and microwave until cara- mels melt. Then stir the mixture until it becomes smooth.\n\nDip the pears into the mixture individually. After dipping each pear, turn it until you\u2019re able to get a relatively even coat. Then, place each pear onto the wax paper to sit until the caramel is set.\n\nWhile the caramel is setting, combine white candy coating disks and 1 table- spoons shortening in mixing bowl and microwave at 70% power for 1 minute. Remove, then stir. Return to microwave and heat for an additional 10- to 20-second intervals. Each time removing the mixture to stir. Repeat until smooth. Dip pears into coating then allow excess to drip off. Return to pan and let stand until set.\n\nIn another mixing bowl, combine the chocolate chips and 1\/2 teaspoon short- ening. Once melted, stir until smooth. Repeat with the orange candy coating disks.\n\nNow the funnest part! Place the orange candy coating mixture and melted chocolate into ziplock plastic bags.
