The\u00a0flesh of the blood orange is firmer and more dense than an orange and its flavor is\u00a0a little more tart.\r\n\r\n<strong>Pink Lady Apple<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Cuyama Farm, New Cuyama, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nA cross between the Golden Delicious and Lady Williams, the Pink Lady is a\u00a0crisp and juicy apple with a tart finish. Pink skins and a creamy white colored flesh\u00a0that resists browning make this an excellent apple for salads and slicing.\r\n\r\n<strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Fuji Apples<\/span><\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Cuyama Farm, New Cuyama, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nFujis are a cross between Red Delicious and Ralls Janet, an heirloom apple dating\u00a0back to Thomas Jefferson.\r\n\r\n<strong>Hayward Kiwis<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Chiechi Farm, Live Oak, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nOriginally known as the Chinese gooseberry due to its Chinese origins. Hawyward\u00a0Wright, a New Zealand nurseryman propagated his plants by grafting, and they\u00a0eventually became the preferred cultivar of growers due to their sweet flavor and\u00a0thin skin.\r\n\r\n<strong>Cara Cara Oranges<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Cousins Organic Citrus, Orange Grove, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nA medium sized red fleshed, seedless navel orange. Cara caras are a low acid orange\u00a0that makes the flesh sweeter and more complex than most navels.\u00a0Creamy in texture, nutty in flavor, with a small to medium seed. The Hass skin is\u00a0easy to peel and darkens from green to purplish-black as it ripens.\r\n\r\n<strong>Page Tangelo<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Abounding Harvest Mountain Farm, Los Gatos, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Tangelo is a cross between a mandarin and grapefuit. Its skin is easy to\u00a0peel and its flesh is a deep orange, tender and juicy with a rich and sweet flavor.\r\n\r\n<strong>Algerian Tangerine<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Abounding Harvest Mountain Farm, Los Gatos, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThis tangerine's skin is a beautiful red-orange hue and is so thin that it peels very\u00a0easily.
