Their small size and sweet juice makes them a favorite with little ones.\r\n\r\n<strong>Hass Avocados<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Las Palamitas, Carpenteria, CA <\/em>\r\n\r\nCreamy in texture, nutty in flavor, with a small to medium seed. The Hass skin\u00a0is easy to peel and darkens from green to purplish-black as it ripens\r\n\r\n<strong>Navel Oranges <\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Purity, Coachella, CA <\/em>\r\n\r\nCalifornia Navel Oranges are considered to be the best Navels for eating out of\u00a0hand. They have a thick skin that is easy to peel, are seedless and have a meaty\u00a0and sweet flesh that makes them a perfect snack.\r\n\r\n<strong>Ruby Grapefruit<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em> Sundance Organic, Oceanside, CA <\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Grapefruit is said to cross between the Jamaican sweet orange and the In- donesian pomelo, first documented in 1750. Ruby grapefruit was an accidental\u00a0discovery of a red fruit growing on a pink grapefruit tree.\r\n\r\n<strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Albion Strawberries<\/span><\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>JW Farms, Watsonville, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Albion is a newer variety strawberry developed at UC Davis. It is ever\u00a0bearing and usually produces fruit June \u2013 October in the Bay Area. Strawberries are early this year! The sweet flavor and firm flesh makes the Albion an\u00a0excellent dessert or preserving berry.\r\n\r\n<strong>Encore Mandarins<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Abounding Harvest, Los Gatos, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Encore is a late variety mandarin that is a cross of the King and Willow\u00a0Leaf oranges.
