Hawyward Wright, a New Zealand nurseryman\u00a0propagated his plants by grafting, and they eventually became\u00a0the preferred cultivar of growers due to their sweet flavor and\u00a0thin skin.\r\n\r\n<strong>Hass Avocados<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Eco Farm, Temecula, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nCreamy in texture, nutty in flavor, with a small to medium\u00a0seed. The Hass skin is easy to peel and darkens from green to\u00a0purplish-black as it ripens\r\n\r\n<strong>Valencia Oranges<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Pleasant Valley Ranch, Yettem, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nValencia Oranges are known for their very sweet tasting and\u00a0brightly colored juice making them one of the most popular\u00a0varieties for juice. Their bright flavor and minimal seed content make them great for out of hand eating too.\r\n\r\n<strong>Ruby Grapefruit <\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Sundance Organic, Oceanside, CA <\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Grapefruit is said to cross between the Jamaican sweet\u00a0orange and the Indonesian pomelo, first documented in 1750.\u00a0Ruby grapefruit was an accidental discovery of a red fruit\u00a0growing on a pink grapefruit tree.\r\n\r\n<strong>Albion Strawberries<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>JW Farms, Watsonville, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Albion is a newer variety strawberry developed at UC\u00a0Davis. It is ever bearing and usually produces fruit June \u2013 October in the Bay Area. Strawberries are early this year!
