It\u2019s early off\u00a0the tree but doesn\u2019t sacrifice any flavor or texture to beat its more popular cous- ins off the branch. Apache\u2019s skin is pinkish-orange, with an orange flesh that is\u00a0finely textured.\r\n\r\n<strong>Albion Strawberries<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>JW Farms, Watsonville, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Albion is a newer variety strawberry developed at UC Davis. It is ever\u00a0bearing and usually produces fruit June \u2013 October in the Bay Area. Strawberries are early this year! The sweet flavor and firm flesh makes the Albion an\u00a0excellent dessert or preserving berry.\r\n\r\n<strong>Hayward Kiwis <\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Chiechi Farm,\u00a0Live Oak, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nOriginally known as the Chinese gooseberry due to its Chinese origins.\u00a0Hawyward Wright, a New Zealand nurseryman propagated his plants by\u00a0grafting, and they eventually became the preferred cultivar of growers due to\u00a0their sweet flavor and thin skin.\r\n\r\n<strong>Hass Avocados<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em>Sundance, Oceanside, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nCreamy in texture, nutty in flavor, with a small to medium seed. The Hass skin\u00a0is easy to peel and darkens from green to purplish-black as it ripens\r\n\r\n<strong>Valencia Oranges<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<em> Sundance Organic, Oceanside, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nValencia Oranges are known for their very sweet tasting and brightly colored\u00a0juice making them one of the most popular varieties for juice. Their bright\u00a0flavor and minimal seed content make them great for out of hand eating too.\r\n\r\n<strong>Ruby Grapefruit<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong><\/strong> <em>Sundance Organic, Oceanside, CA<\/em>\r\n\r\nThe Grapefruit is said to cross between the Jamaican sweet orange and the Indonesian pomelo, first documented in 1750.
