Ingredients<\/b><\/h3>\nCake<\/strong>\n\n1\/2 cup ground oranges lemons, or about 1 medium orange\n\n1 cup sugar\n\n4 oz butter, softened\n\n2 eggs\n\n1 cup buttermilk\n\n1 3\/4 cup cake flour\n\n\u00bd teaspoon salt\n\n1 teaspoon baking soda\n\n \n

Method<\/strong><\/h3>\nCake<\/strong>\n\nCut the stem and blossom ends off the oranges, cut in half and remove seeds in a food processor or blender, process the orange and \u00bd cup of the sugar until lemon is roughly\u00a0pureed\n\nIn a stand mixer or in a bowl with a hand held mixer, cream the butter, add the remaining half cup\u00a0sugar and cream until light and fluffy.\n\nLightly beat the eggs and add to the butter, sugar mixture one at a time beating well after each\u00a0addition. It may look curdled.\n\nAlternately add the butter milk and the dry ingredients, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.\u00a0Careful not to over mix. Then add the orange\/sugar mixture, beat for a moment, then remove from\u00a0the mixer and stir\/fold in by hand with a rubber spatula.\n\nPour batter into buttered 9\u201d Cake pan. Evenly wrap the pan on the counter to release any air\u00a0bubbles in the batter.\n\nBake at 350\u00ba for 50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let cool.\n\nOrange Marmalade Glaze<\/strong>\n\nIn a small sauce pan scoop out \u00bd of an 8 oz jar of marmalade, add 2 teaspoons water or Grand\u00a0Marnier.\u00a0Heat until liquid. With a skewer make holes in cake about every 2 inches. Pour and spread warm\u00a0marmalade glaze over the top.\n\n \n\nOver medium heat cook the sugar with the water or juice until its dissolved.
