From Farmer Al

Dear CSA Members,

SLOW MONEY

That’s the title of the book. It’s also the name of the movement ‘Slowly’ sweeping the nation….”Investing as if food, farms, and fertility mattered……..” And it is hand in glove with the CSA movement which is gaining momentum.

I urge you all to read this book. For me, it crystallizes in eloquent prose (almost poetry to my ears!) many of the values here at Frog Hollow Farm as well as the essential principals of the CSA movement.

Community trumps profits! Sustainability bests growth! And the health of our children as well as the health of the planet are at steak.

Attend the conference at Fort Mason if you’d like to meet the folks in person, and especially if you’d like to invest in your local food system.

With an eye toward the future,

Signature of Farmer Al

Happy Child CSA News

A Pear Affair

Set your calendars for October 23rd, from 11 am to 3 pm. We’re inviting all of our CSA Members, and their Friends and Family to come out to the farm to enjoy the orchard. Bring a picnic lunch, and we’ll supply desserts.

We’ll have some games for children, baked goods and farm products for sale, a composting demo and everyone is welcome to walk around and enjoy the orchard at this beautiful time of year.

Pears, Apples, and other Kitchen items will be available for sale. We’re also working with local farms to offer you other activities in Brentwood for the Harvest. In addition to Family Friendly activities, there’s also some wine tasting in the area if you’re up for that!

An eventbrite invitation will be available this week so you can RSVP and give us an idea of how many people to expect.

*event is weather permitting and no dogs are allowed, sorry!*
