Ingredients
2 Asian pears, cored, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon grated Clementine or orange rind
1 tablespoon fresh Clementine or orange juice
Preparation
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and stir until the sugar is melted into the butter. Add the Clementine zest and the Clementine or orange juice and cook until the pear is just tender – about 5 minutes. Remove the pear from the saucepan and set aside. Stir the butter and sugar mixture until it becomes syrupy.
Serve the sauce over the pears. Try this over pancakes or French toast for a stellar breakfast!
