We are very excited to be participating in the Lexicon of Sustainability Meet Your Farmer Day this Saturday, March 22nd from 12pm – 3pm at the David Brower Center in Berkeley.
Farmer Al and other Bay Area farmers, ranchers, fisherman and food producers will be coming together to share their stories and sample their harvests at this fun and interactive day. The Lexicon of Sustain- ability informational photographs will be on display, live music, oppor- tunities for people of all ages to create their own informational art- works, and shorts from their Know Your Food film series will be played throughout the afternoon.
The Lexicon of Sustainability was started three years ago by Douglas Gaeyton and Laura Howard-Gaeyton in an effort to bring to light the meaning of a word that is increasingly used, but perhaps not widely understood. Their current work explores the principals of sustainability through the lens of agriculture and food systems.
Art exhibitions, pop-up shows, a short film series, a book , and Project Localize – an initiative to work with teachers and students to identify and promote sustainable economic, cultural, and social progress in their communities, have emerged out of the Lexicon of Sustainability.
