Our second annual Blossom Festival was a big success, with good weather and great “bee” talks by our honeybee beekeeper, Alan Hawkins, and our native bee specialist, Marissa Ponder from UC Berkeley.
March is the month of madness here on the farm. We’re either angry at Mother Nature for warm, wet weather, or we’re delirious with delight for dryness.
Things are really moving now…. We’re actually seeing fruit on some early varieties! The Apache apricots have fruit, as do the Honey Rich apriums. And our newest addition to early harvest varieties is the Super Zee peach, which also already has fruit.
It is a beautiful day here on the farm. To the west is Mt. Diablo, covered in snow and towering 4500 feet over the vast central valley.
