Things are really moving now…. We’re actually seeing fruit on some early varieties! The Apache apricots have fruit, as do the Honey Rich apriums. And our newest addition to early harvest varieties is the Super Zee peach, which also already has fruit.
Ellen, a Piedmont site member, sent us a recipe for Glazed Pear and Pecan Cake saying she’d made it twice with our Warren pears and that it was “outrageously good for relatively little effort.” Here’s the apple version.
It is a beautiful day here on the farm. To the west is Mt. Diablo, covered in snow and towering 4500 feet over the vast central valley.
