How to slice an orange

I’m a fan of easy to peel citrus, which is why I love mandarins and tangelos. For any of the more stubborn citrus to peel, I simply use my trusty ceramic paring knife.

Recipe – Candied Grapefruit

This simple recipe can be prepared well under an hour. As we continue to move into citrus season, consider trying it out with oranges, tangerines, or other heavy-skinned fragrant citrus. If substituting, based on average sizing, two oranges or three tangerines may be used in the place of the grapefruit.

Fulfilling a member request, we had recently donated a box of fruit to the local, just around the corner from us, Discovery Bay scouting Troop 514 for them to have some healthy snacks on their hike.
