Next week we’ll be picking the first stone fruit of 2011, a new variety of peach called “Super Z”.
Back in the good ol’ days when I was young–just getting started here in Brentwood, and Frog Hollow Farm was still a dream not even yet dreamed…
The cherry outlook is good…but late. They’ll arrive maybe a week to even 10 days later than last year which was the usual start date of May 15.
As the much needed warm weather brings sun to the trees, we enjoyed some avocado ice cream here at the farm.
So, I just finished commiserating with my friend Bill Denevan, the apple grower from Santa Cruz, and he told me a couple of war stories about years past like this one.
